The Increased Access Scholarship
This full scholarship is available to anyone committed to teaching yoga to under-resourced populations, furthering a more equitable, inclusive, and accessible yoga community. If you would like to see more yoga programs in facilities and neighborhoods that have any number of barriers to access yoga, this teacher training program could help you take a step toward that goal. How would you like to bring change by increasing access to yoga? If you have a vision, tell us about it in your application. We want to help you make it a reality!

Fellowship Mentors
Kiera Penpeci
Kiera began practicing yoga in Boston in 2013 in search of community, finding support through corporate life, long-distance cycling, and personal healing. With training from JP Centre Yoga and Threes Physiyoga, Kiera combines physical therapy principles with yoga to help students develop sensory awareness, strength, and stability through progressively challenging movement. Outside of yoga, Kiera works as an organizational psychologist and professor at William James College, focusing on organizational healing, equal opportunity, and inclusive leadership.
Johnathon Holmes
Johnathon completed his teacher training with Boston Yoga School, followed by advanced study with Kula Yoga Project and Threes Physiyoga. A Nurse Practitioner he is interested in how the regular practice of yoga can help cultivate physical, emotional, and spiritual health through attention to the body and breath. His classes blend slow, sometimes challenging movement with playfulness, structure, and restorative practices, inviting students to find strength, rest deeply, and cultivate self-awareness.
Chanelle Luck
Chanelle has led BIPOC-centered wellness spaces since 2014, founding Hive Soul Yoga and co-founding the Yoga Diversity Initiative, which established JP Centre Yoga’s first BIPOC scholarship for its inaugural teacher training in 2015. Grounded in social justice and collective healing, her teaching aims to make yoga accessible to people of all shades, sizes, ages, abilities, and identities. Her dynamic, invitational Vinyasa classes encourage students to build strength, honor their limits, and leave feeling energized, grounded, and empowered.
YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
The 200 hour foundational teacher training is facilitated by JP Centre Yoga in Boston MA.
The next cohort begins Feb. 2027
Funding
Our fellowship program is made possible by the generosity of our community. Please consider donating to help us create a more equitable yoga community.
JP Centre Yoga will cover half of each fellow’s tuition, and we are fundraising for the remaining half and mentor compensation. Our fundraising goal for the 2027 teacher training is $11,500, all of which will go toward tuition and compensation for the mentors who support our fellows during and after training.
